Throughout his career he has served in many interim C-Suite roles, including as CEO of a $100 million auto parts business during its sale process, CEO of a $80 million retail propane company and as interim CEO of one of the largest environmental testing companies in the U.S. during the sale of its nationwide network of labs. He’s also advised dozens of leadership teams on the reorganization and restructuring of their companies or financial obligations and has served as a federal and state court-appointed receiver and as a liquidating agent in Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases.

Jim was on the private committee that drafted the revised Minnesota statute on Receiverships and Assignments for the Benefits of Creditor, both of which were signed into law in 2012.

Jim is a founding director of the Minnesota chapter of the Turnaround Management Association and a member of the American College of Bankruptcy, Minnesota Society of CPAs, American Institute of CPAs and serves on the Board of Directors for Minnesota Wire & Cable Co. He previously served on the Board of Directors for multiple companies, including Midwest Auto Parts Distributors, United Shipping and Technology and Faribault Woolen Mill. Jim has been featured in the Journal of Corporate Renewal, is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP).

Prior to working with Companies in financial distress, Jim worked for Deloitte & Touche as a senior manager. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, with a Bachelor of Science degree (major in accounting) with High Distinction. Jim resides in Stillwater, Minnesota with his wife, and is an avid downhill skier, traveler and motorcyclist.
